UMPQUA RIVER MOBILE HOME & RV PARK

WOODPECKER'S NEST AT SCOTTSBURG, OR

The Scottsburg Park located a short distance downstream from Woodpecker's Nest on the Umpqua River, offers boat launching and picknicking.

It is one access to great fishing for salmon (fall & spring Chinook and Coho), sturgeon, steelhead, shad, small mouth bass and striped bass.
The summer season is a great time as well for fishing for Salmon on the Umpqua River. Chinook salmon are blue-green on the back and top of their heads with silvery sides and white bellies.
They have black spots on the upper half of their bodies with a gray/black mouth coloration. They measure up to 58 inches in length and weigh up to 129 pounds. Average measurements are up to 36 inches in length and up to 30 pounds in weight
Small mouth BASS are greenish to brown on their sides with dark, vertical bars that come and go. They have 3 dark bars radiating from their eyes. These bass have been called "the sportist fish" because of their fighting abilities.
They have a chameleon-like ability to change color. They range from 12 to 22 inches and from 1 up to 6 plus pounds.
Sturgeon fishing starts in January & runs through June. We fish from just above Winchester Bay, Oregon to approx. Mill Creek on highway 38. The Spring Chinook season runs from March through May. Winter Steelhead starts in late October and runs through February.
